A reboot of the VPS hosting server is needed when you have to update the kernel. It has been seen quite often that users restart VPS at the drop of a hat. However, it should be done when updating the kernel becomes necessary. VPS reboot should be kept as the last option and should not be used whenever you feel. You should strictly avoid rebooting when a website is loading slowly, email seems not working, someone tells you that they are unable to access your email or website, you have an SSH connection to the server. Even if you haven’t started the VPS in a while now, don’t restart it until and unless you need to update the kernel. 

 

You can reboot your VPS hosting server by steps mentioned below –

 

Step 1 – You have to sign in to your control panel account of the VPS server. Now, scroll down and go to the Servers section. In that section, find out the VPS header. Now, click "Manage Link" under that VPS header. 

 

Step 2 – Once you have clicked the "Manage Link", you can now see the list of servers that are there in your account. If there are multiple servers, you have to choose the VPS server that you want to reboot. To the panel’s right-hand side you will find "manage" button. 

 

Step 3 – Now, click the manage button and you will be taken to the VPS management control panel. In this panel, you will find Console tab at top of the window. Now select it. 

 

Step 4 – Once the Console tab is selected, you can now see three things – VPS Status, Change State, and Rebuild VPS section. You can now reboot VPS by using the Change State option. Once it is done, click Change State button for starting the reboot.
